“finding true north”
Feast of Tabernacles 2026
The “feast of tabernacles” is known in hebrew as
“sukkot”
“You shall keep the Feast of Booths (“sukkot” or tabernacles) seven days, when you have gathered in the produce from your threshing floor and your winepress. You shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your towns. For seven days you shall keep the feast to the Lord your God at the place that the Lord will choose, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.”
Deuteronemy 16:13-15
this years theme - “finding true north”
did you know There are two norths!
“True north” is the direction to the top of the world, the north pole. It is the fixed point the whole Earth turns on. And what all our maps are oriented against. Magnetic north is where your compass needle pulls towards, and it is not the same place. Here in Maine the gap between them runs about fifteen degrees. Navigators call that gap declination.
Fifteen degrees doesn't sound like much. But an error of fifteen degrees over the length of a mile will put you a quarter mile off course! — and it just gets exponentially worse the farther you travel.
Another problem is that magnetic north moves. It drifts year after year, and you have to adjust the declination on a compass in order to keep properly aligned with true north.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." He is the true north. Set your bearings on Him and you can never be lost!

Important info
Welcome Any Time
You are not obligated to stay for the entire feast. You are welcome to join us during this feast for any day or time you would like. Join us for dinner, or worship. A couple of days or the entire event.
Location - Location - Location
Sukkot is a feast of celebration and Joy! The region this event is held in is home to many wonderful outdoor recreation opportunities, dinning, shopping, and attractions. While celebrating this feast with us you are not required to stay on site or the property. Feel free to plan some outings and enjoy the are.
The Banquet! (Oct 1st - 6pm)
This is a special dinner. A culmination of the event on the eve of the final 8th day of Sukkot. We strive to make this memorable, as eloquent as possible while camping out, and a special time for our families to dine together. It is encouraged to dress nice and prepare accordingly.
Camping
All camping is primitive with no water or electric hookup at the sites. Drinking/potable water should be brought with you. Non potable water is available on site, and we are making an effort to have a shower or two available this year. Porta Potties will be located throughout the property for the event. In the event of emergency there is a home with electricity and water and our church building on property a little walk from the campsite. We do have room for 2-3 RV’s or campers closer to the road and a little walk from the camp area.
Supplies and Shopping
There are multiple stores within a short drive of the campsite. Grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, restaurants, gas stations, camping supplies, coffee shops all within a 15 minute radius of our location.
Cooking/Food
Except for the two dinners planned for this event, you will need to be responsible for you and/or your families food. There will be a camp stove, griddle, and grill, as well as the fire pit that folks are welcome to use. The big community tent will have tables and chairs for everyone to utilize. We do ask that everyone be considerate of this space and do our best to keep it neat and clean. We ask that each of us be aware of everyone that may need to use this space and these items and also respect the cooking apparatus as it is being graciously provided by others for this event and not property of the ministry.
Fires
Designated fire pits are located on property. NO fires are allowed anywhere other than these designated locations.
Drugs/Alcohol
NO Illicit drugs or drunkenness will be tolerated or allowed on the premises.
Pets
NO pets will be allowed on property during this event. Except for official service animals.
“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. You shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”
“The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us”
“And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
what is the “Feast of Tabernacles”
The “Feast of Tabernacles” also known as “Sukkot” is one of the fall feasts instituted by God for all His people. It memorializes the Israelites journey through the wilderness after leaving Egypt, and reminds us that this earth in its fallen state of sin is not our eternal home. It celebrates the good news that Jesus Christ, or Yeshua Ha'mashiach in hebrew, came to live among men and die for our redemption. It points forward to the “marriage supper of the Lamb”. It is a time for us to meditate on and celebrate the hope that someday Yeshua will return and end our journey through the wilderness of this sin filled earth, and establish his eternal kingdom, and bring us home to the house he has gone to prepare for us!
